+ New News! Art,Merch, Circles, Birthwork and Travel!

Dearest Wombs of the World Community,

If you are a birthworker, has anyone showered you with praise recently? Thank you for giving so much, for being on call, and for holding this sacred space. And if you’re not a birthworker but know one, or know someone who is freshly perinatal (in those tender weeks before and after birth), give them some love and appreciation! This work can be the most incredibly beautiful, rewarding, purpose-driven work—and it can also be exhausting and isolating, as can the journey into motherhood—back to why we do what we do!

OK, but actually, I am writing because I have BIG EXCITING NEWS!!!

🌿 First Up—Last Trip of 2024: Ecuador, Here We Come!

Our final trip of 2024 is heading to Ecuador this November! In 2025, we’ll be focusing more on supporting the incredible community projects led by Partera Di Anaku, founded by the amazing Martha and Luzmila, which means we’ll be doing less traveling. So if you’ve been feeling the call, this is your chance to join us!

This 11-day journey will immerse us in the rich traditions of indigenous midwifery, sacred ceremonies, and the ancestral wisdom of the land. It’s a beautiful opportunity to learn from Martha and Luzmila, connect with like-minded souls, and honor the roots of birthwork.

Our participants say it best:

"I cannot begin to explain what a life changing experience this trip to Ecuador was for me. The healing and learning that I received was worth so much more than gold. I went in with expectations only to gain more knowledge of birthwork but left with knowledge of self. The feeling of being in community with so many great people and being welcomed into a culture as family was truly incredible. I really appreciated the cultural competence and respect shown by Charlotte & I can really say that the work being done here is going to change the world. I am excited to continue being in fellowship with Wombs of The World & look forward to many great trips in the future."

Oh, and here’s a reminder of another new thing we launched recently:

✨The Revolutionary Birthworker Circles!✨

This is something I’ve been dreaming up for months, and I finally had some downtime to get it together (though let’s be real, the biggest picture is to launch a global birthworker training program—but we’re not quite there yet).

My intention with these is to share the magic of what happens when we gather to geek out. These are the topics we dive into on our trips and that I focused on while earning my master’s in perinatal social work.

Over six zoom sessions, we’ll explore:

  • The Anthropology of the Mother

  • Birth as a Social Justice Issue

  • Navigating Birthwork as a Business

  • Supporting Clients Through Grief

  • Creating Ceremonies and Rituals

  • Blending Modern Medicine with Traditional Practices

If you’ve been on a trip, I would love love love to see your face and hear your perspective!

This is your chance to join the conversation, join the movement, join the revolution. (And I keep saying revolution because YES—this is how it starts. Passionate people gathering in circle, alchemizing the rage, establishing a game plan, and reviving the matriarchy. Let’s fffff gooooo!!!)

You’ll receive personalized attention, mentorship, and the chance to be part of a close-knit, supportive community.

Start Dates:

  • Circle 1: Tuesdays, Sept 24

  • Circle 2: Saturdays, Sept 28

Ready to join the magic? (Also this beautiful image is on some merch, so go check it out!)

And finally, from me to you:

The growth of Wombs of the World is following a path that is so much bigger than me. It has become this incredible, global community of women—all so freaking wonderful and badass—with the same intention: to honor birth, to honor the mother.

I’m still in such denial that I work in tourism, and now I’ll be in denial that I’m in retail! But doing all of these things with this mission in mind is the greatest honor of my life.

We want to do so much, and there are so many pieces of the puzzle now. But Wombs of the World and our tiny team of two is the glue holding it all together. Jenny and I are working hard to keep this model sustainable, and we’re learning a lot along the way. To do this work and be connected to all of you makes my heart want to literally explode out of my chest with gratitude.

Thank you for trusting me and for joining me on this journey of figuring out how to do this—and do this well. Together, we are elevating our profession and our professionals.

On that note, I send you my deepest gratitude.

With so much love and appreciation,

Charlotte
