Mission & Vision
Embark on an immersive eleven-day journey with Wombs of the World to the heartlands of Mexico City and Oaxaca. Here, we explore the rich traditions of Mexican birthwork, from the vibrant streets to the soulful practices of traditional midwifery. This experience is a deep dive into Mexico's ancestral wisdom, focusing on rebozo techniques, plant medicine, and the spiritual aspects of childbirth.
Oaxaca, with its pulsating heart of community and resilience, serves as our classroom. Our mission is to foster a meaningful exchange between global birthworkers and local communities, offering insights into traditional practices enriched by Mexico's cultural depth. Expect intensive workshops focusing on the mastery of rebozo techniques, the healing power of plant medicine, the nurturing art of postpartum support, and the holistic care of wombs wellness. Our workshops and ceremonies promise a transformative learning experience, connecting you with the timeless wisdom of Mexican parteras.

Sample Itinerary
Here is a sample of what our trip could like, this is potentially subject to change due to weather or the twists and turns of travel!
Day 1: Arrival in Mexico City
Welcome to the heart of Mexico! Settle into your hotel and take the evening to explore the vibrant surroundings.

Day 4: Journey to Oaxaca
Travel to Oaxaca and upon arrival, enjoy free time to discover the city’s colorful streets and rich history and shop shop shop if you want!

Day 7: Teotitlán Valley Exploration
Discover the crafts and culture of the Teotitlán Valley, followed by a session on energetic healing and cleansing with Curandera Maria Ruez Mendoza.
Day 10: Closing Ceremonies
Spend your morning touring Oaxaca’s key sights, followed by a lovely lunch and a closing ceremony with another Temazcal to reflect on your journey.
Day 2: Cultural Immersion
Experience the legendary Frida Kahlo Museum and enjoy a super fun boat ride in Xochimilco, immersing yourself in the area’s breathtaking nature and unique floating gardens.
Day 5: Workshops Begin!
Engage in workshops covering womb health techniques with skilled practitioners, followed by a welcoming cacao ceremony and a ancient birth chart reading..
Day 8: Herbalism Day
Learn the art of herbalism from Doña Queta and enjoy free time in Oaxaca. That evening attend an medicinal (herbal) cocktail making class.
Day 11: Departure
Savor your last moments in Mexico with free time before your departure. Add on packages will be available if you want to keep traveling!
Day 3: Huerto Day
A day filled with opening ceremonies, dance workshops, conversations on cosmovision, and a workshop on natural gynecology, culminating in a Temazcal ceremony.

Day 6: Doña Queta
Continue your learning with discussions on ceremony, fertility, and emotional support, and explore loss and trauma healing techniques​,​
Day 9: Birth & Postpartum
Delve into birth-themed workshops focusing on communication with the baby in the womb and Mayan abdominal massage techniques.

How the process works:
Step 1
Submit Application
Begin by applying with a $50+ fee, which supports our scholarship fund, increasing program accessibility.
Step 2
Attend Info Session
After your application, join us for an enlightening webinar. It’s an opportunity for you to fully understand the program, connect with like-minded birthworkers, and express your intentions as well.
Step 3
Deep Dive Questionnaire
A follow-up application will be sent post-webinar to gauge your readiness and ensure your goals align with the heart of this program.
Step 4
Pre-trip Zoom Calls
Once you have been accepted into the program, you will be added to a group WhatsApp group and invited to several group zoom calls with your trip facilitators to connect before you travel.
We welcome a diverse group of birthworkers who share a giving heart, open mind, humility, adaptability, a thirst for learning, and a service-oriented spirit. No hands-on clinical experience is required, making this program accessible to a wider range of birthworkers.
