Why This Full-Spectrum Doula Training Is Setting a New Standard in Birthwork

Every once in a while, I get an email in my inbox that makes me want to cry. (And also maybe retire, because how could it ever get any better??).
And then I release a full body exhale and think think... YAAASSSSSSS!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING FOR!
The mission was never just to create "another doula training". It was never about checking boxes, earning certificates, or doing things the way they’ve always been done. The vision behind the Wombs of the World Full-Spectrum Doula Training has always been bigger than that. It’s about building a global movement to radically improve maternal health outcomes and to ensure that every birthing person, everywhere, feels respected, supported, and deeply dignified throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
So when a student named Ana in Oregon writes something like this, I pause and I let it land.
“Having gone through several doula trainings, I’ve found that few are great, most are adequate, but most have left me wanting something more. This course didn’t just meet expectations and deliver that ‘more’—it gave me the depth, insight, and transformation I had been searching for. I truly believe this training should set the new standard.”
This is exactly what I hoped our students would experience. Not just information, but transformation. Not just tools, but a shift in how they see birth, systems, power, and themselves.
What makes this training different is not just my point of view or the curriculum design, but the collective wisdom woven throughout the course. Birthworkers, mothers, educators, and global voices sharing lived experience, not theory detached from reality. The result is a learning environment that feels both rigorous and nurturing. One that invites reflection, responsibility, and action.
“Although designed for doulas, I really believe it should be required for medical professionals, anyone in the maternal health field, and honestly, all humans.”
I’ve said for years that I wish every person on the planet took a doula training!! Because birthwork teaches us how to be better humans. It teaches patience. Deep listening. Nervous system awareness. Encouragement. How to support someone through intensity without making it about ourselves.
The world could use more of that right now...
And still, this course is not for everyone.
“This course may not be for you if you’re not ready to be changed by it.”
This training asks something of you. It asks you to look inward. To examine the systems you live and work within. To sit with the uncomfortable realities that many people navigate every single day while giving birth or recovering postpartum. It asks you to move beyond saviorism, beyond surface-level care, and into ethical, trauma-informed, culturally humble birthwork.
And in that asking, something powerful happens.
“In answering that call, I found clarity in my own mission as a doula and have shaped how I can truly make a difference in my community.”
This is where birthwork becomes revolutionary.
Because what I love most about this field is how deeply entrepreneurial it is. Birthworkers are innovators.
Bridge-builders.
System-shifters.
We see gaps and we create solutions.
We build businesses, programs, and community care models that didn’t exist before. We work at the intersection of heart and strategy, embodiment and impact.
This is not just a doula certification. It is an initiation into a way of seeing the world.
If you are feeling the pull toward birthwork, postpartum care, maternal health advocacy, or simply becoming a more grounded, ethical, and compassionate human… you are not late.
You are right on time.
This is the revolution we are building. And we need you to rise up and join us.
