Mission & Vision

Embark on an eleven-day transformative journey to Karatu, Tanzania, with Wombs of the World. Designed for birthworkers—doulas, midwives, L&D nurses—this immersive program intertwines service with profound learning experiences in two local clinics. Our unique "Nursi-Dada-Doula" initiative fosters collaboration, easing language barriers and deepening engagement in a clinical setting. Here, you'll serve alongside nurse midwives and Tanzanian mothers, embracing the resilience and strength of African birth practices with respect and humility.

Beyond clinical service, the program offers cultural immersion and personal growth. Stay in welcoming accommodations, savor nutritious meals, and start each day with optional movement sessions. Engage with the local Maasai tribe to understand their birth rituals, explore the stunning Ngorongoro Crater on a safari adventure, and share daily reflections and stories in a supportive community of birthworkers.

This journey is more than a chance to gain hands-on experience; it's an opportunity to challenge perceptions, learn from diverse birthing traditions, and form lasting bonds with fellow participants and the women you serve. As you immerse yourself in Tanzanian culture and contribute to meaningful service, you'll return home enriched, inspired, and more connected to the global birthworker community. Ready for an experience that will change not only how you view birth but also your role in it?

Join us in Tanzania for a journey of service, learning, and transformation.
